Antarctica Visitor Site Guidelines

In 2006, Oceanites was tasked by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth office to draft the initial set of ten site-specific visitor guidelines the UK ultimately proposed for adoption by the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Parties. These drafts were based on penguin/seabird population data site-descriptive information compiled by Oceanites’ Antarctic Site Inventory project. It took three consultative meetings for this initial group to be adopted, which has now grown to more than 35 (http://www.ats.aq/e/ats_other_siteguidelines.htm), with the Inventory database continuing to be a key reference for new guidelines.
